What is one of the least cool things that the U.S. government did lately? The government has everyone here so scared about terrorists that they will pick a random middle eastern dude and bam, rendition! Or to put in other words, flying someone out of our country like the case of Maher Arar because he was a "suspected terrorist" which U.S officials who picked him up at the JFK airport didn't base on any fact known of. They flew him to Syria where he was beaten and tortured in jail he was finally released to back home a year later when they realized they had no evidence on this poor guy.

This is extremely interesting. I agree with a lot of the points you're making, and was wondering if you've heard about an incident that happened not too long ago. A Pakistan man was boarding a plane (I forget what airline it was), and he was wearing a shirt that said "We will not be silent." They ended up not letting him board the plane. I wonder how this works along with free speech?
kvIt really upsets me to hear stories of innocent people being targeted and treated like a terrorist when they are not at all. I know the government is just trying to do their job, but seriously a line needs to be drawn, how many innocent people are going to be hurt or treated wrongly just for the way they look? People in our country are so ignorant and I really feel like our government and just American people in general should really get thier facts straight before jumping to conclusions. They need to put theirself in others shoes, and I think we all need to remember not to judge a book by its cover......
Thanks for sharing that example. I had not heard of this case...
Welcome to America! Why doesn't this surprise me? This country was built on racism and brutality; this story is just another incident of ignorance to add to the list. This is very sad and I truly hope that one day things will change.
