A sports game?
Politics, especially now with the upcoming presidential elections are like sports. A lot of people stay with one team no matter how many of the players are bad or do corrupt things. I was listening to AM radio yesterday and a talk show host was saying that all republicans should support John McCain no matter what(some people, especially more conservative republicans think he is too liberal of a republican...) because "a republican is always better than a democrat." I think that is a pretty close minded ideal. I am a self-proclaimed liberal but even so I think that this year's presidential race is extremely important, as Clinton said, "It's time for damage control." and as Obama said, "It's time to make a change." These are two statements I definetely agree with but at the same time I will not ignore republican debates just because I am a democrat. I also want to listen to McCain and see what he stands for, because I never know. I can't be mad at republicans for not listening to democrats and then be a democrat who doesn't listen to the republicans. Besides, I was really excited when the democrats took over the house, but they didn't really change anything or stand up for themselves. It's all a big sports game with everyone waving their team's flags and screaming and not listening to the other side. That's fine for sports but not politics, get a life people.

Britney Law...
Ha ha funny funny... :)Britney..on crack? So as I was randomly channel surfing I happened to come across this thing on the news. They were saying how some people like the LAPD are trying to propose a "Britney Law" so paparazzi have to leave a certain space around celebrities while taking pictures, for the safety of the celebrity. Also another reason is because when Britney Spears had a freak out drugged-out incident when they had to take her from her home in an ambulance, the LAPD spent 25,000 dollars just on that one night to make sure there were enough cops on motorcycles and in a helicopter to make sure she was safe from paparazzis. Some people say to inact a Britney law would be in violation of the 1st ammendment.... any opinions on this?

Maher Arar

What is one of the least cool things that the U.S. government did lately? The government has everyone here so scared about terrorists that they will pick a random middle eastern dude and bam, rendition! Or to put in other words, flying someone out of our country like the case of Maher Arar because he was a "suspected terrorist" which U.S officials who picked him up at the JFK airport didn't base on any fact known of. They flew him to Syria where he was beaten and tortured in jail he was finally released to back home a year later when they realized they had no evidence on this poor guy.
